PLEASE NOTE THAT CASE REPORTS MAY NOT BE SUBMITTED FOR CONSIDERATION AT THE 18^TH ANNUAL ACADEMIC SURGICAL CONGRESS MEETING

NOTE: ALL content authors are required to disclose any financial relationship(s) with an ACCME-defined ineligible company (‘industry’). Also, no content author may be an owner or employee of an ineligible company.

Important Notice: Given our record-breaking abstract submission numbers over the past few years-and in order to maximize the number of participants in the ASC – we will continue to limit the number of abstracts that an individual may present to TWO. There is no limit to the number of abstracts that may be submitted, and if more than two abstracts are accepted the highest scoring abstract will be selected for presentation. Please note that there is no limit on the number of abstracts an individual may be listed as an author on.

Pacific Coast Surgical Association Abstract Deadline

PCSA is collecting abstract submissions for the PCSA Annual Meeting which will be held at The Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, February 2-5, 2023. Abstracts will be accepted from June 1 through September 6, 2022 at 10:00 am PDT.

The 2023 PCSA meeting will be held February 2-5, 2023, at The Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay. The Program Committee encourages abstract submission of your top scientific effort for presentation at the meeting.

Abstracts may be submitted for Podium or Brief-Podium presentation format. All submissions must have at least one PCSA member as author, co-author, or sponsor. Submissions without a PCSA member author or PCSA member sponsor will not be reviewed.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must conform to the exact size and format specified in the Abstract Submission Form.
Abstracts may not exceed 250 words. Abstracts that are too brief or contain insufficient data will not be considered favorably by the Program Committee.
Figures, tables, and images attached to accepted abstract submissions will not be printed in the Proceedings.
Do not use any special characters within your abstract submission.
To enable blinded review, do not reference identifying information in the body of the abstract.
Abstracts using data in a concurrent submission elsewhere or published previously will not be reviewed, with the exception of work submitted to the ACS Surgical Forum.
If you select a Podium Presentation, you may automatically be considered for a Brief-Podium Presentation if your abstract is not selected for the podium.
Authors are required to submit two multiple choice questions with abstract submission for Self-Assessment Quiz and MOC Credit planning for the 2023 Annual Meeting. Each question must have four multiple choice answers. True/false, all of the above, none of the above, both a and b, etc. answer types are not allowed. One question must be formatted as a case-based question. Please include the correct answer when supplying the multiple choices. Access the multiple-choice guidelines here.

Presentation Formats

Oral or ePoster: Abstracts submitted to this category will be competitively evaluated by the Program Committee for presentation in the oral, quick shot or ePoster format. Presentations selected will be eligible for annual awards including best overall, basic science or clinical paper presented from the podium or as an ePoster.
Oral Only: Abstracts submitted to this category will be competitively evaluated by the Program Committee for presentation in the oral format ONLY (Podium and Quick Shot). Abstracts will NOT be considered for ePoster presentation. Presentations selected will be eligible for annual awards including best overall, basic science or clinical paper presented from the podium.
ePoster Only: Abstracts submitted to this category will be evaluated for ePoster presentation only. Presentations selected will be eligible for best basic science or clinical e-poster.
Video: Abstracts submitted to this category will be competitively evaluated by the Video-Based Education Committee for presentation during the video abstract symposium and the Ongoing Video Room. Videos selected will be eligible for the best video award.
Case Study: Abstracts submitted to this category will be evaluated for ePoster presentation only.
Research Forum: Abstracts submitted to this category will be competitively evaluated by the Young Researchers Committee for oral presentation during the Research Forum. This session highlights developing areas of research that have clinical relevance for the care of patients with colorectal diseases. Presentations selected will be eligible for the Research in Progress award. If not accepted for Oral presentation the abstract will be considered for ePoster presentation.
New Technology: Abstracts submitted to this category will be competitively evaluated by the Program Committee in conjunction with the New Technologies Committee for oral presentation during the New Technology Symposium. This symposium highlights the development, integration, evaluation and dissemination of new technology in the practice of colon and rectal surgery. If not accepted for Oral presentation the abstract will be considered for e-poster presentation.
