Dear Colleagues,

The Association of VA Surgeons is now accepting abstracts for our upcoming Annual Meeting, taking place from April 6-8, 2025 at the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, GA. This event provides a unique platform for VA surgeons to share their research, clinical innovations, and best practices to advance surgical care within the VA system.

Submission Deadline: January 10, 2025 at Midnight Pacific

Topics of Interest Include:

  • Surgical outcomes and quality improvement
  • Advances in minimally invasive techniques
  • Veteran-focused healthcare delivery innovations
  • Surgical education and training within the VA system
  • Other topics relevant to VA surgeons

We encourage submissions from all levels of experience, including trainees, as well as those focusing on collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to surgical care. Selected abstracts will be featured in oral presentations, offering an excellent opportunity to engage with peers and leaders in VA surgery.

The AVAS also partners with JAMA Surgery, a premiere peer-reviewed journal, to select quality papers from our conference, providing an excellent opportunity for broader visibility and impact within the surgical community.

ACS Quality and Safety Annual Meeting Abstract Submission

Call for Abstracts

Submissions are now open

The American College of Surgeons has issued a call for abstracts to be presented at the 2025 ACS Quality and Safety Conference, July 17-20 in San Diego, CA. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 3, 2025.

Healthcare professionals are encouraged to submit a 250-word abstract for presentation. Abstracts are accepted as an oral presentation, poster presentation, or both.

Abstract submissions should:

  • Relate to surgical quality improvement initiatives, including the development, implementation, or validation of best practices
  • Follow operational best practices relating to workflows around collecting data and reporting
  • Use data from a nationally recognized surgical quality registry sponsored by a surgical society

There is no limit on the number of abstracts per author.  

Please note that abstracts which have been submitted or recently presented at other meetings are eligible for presentation at the 2025 ACS Quality and Safety Conference. Previous presentation of a paper does not prohibit the presentation or publication of the material at the 2025 ACS Quality and Safety Conference.
