Science As Art Entry Deadline

From histologies to fluorescent microscopy, images are an important tool for the analysis and presentation of scientific work. Occasionally, scientific images transcend their role as a medium for transmitting information and contain the aesthetic qualities that transform them into objects of beauty and art.

Submit your scientific images to our first Science as Art Contest! The winning images will be printed and displayed in Stanford Surgery’s offices—including our new space in Discovery Hall—featured on the department’s social media channels, and may be used on department websites.

Deadline: May 22

Submit your image here: https://forms.gle/QSSDKowsaomCPpGbA

All Stanford Surgery faculty, staff, and trainees are eligible to participate.

Holman Lecture & Research Day—CANCELLED

Due to current events in the world and here at home, Holman20 has been canceled.

The Holman Lecture and Resident Research Day celebrates Stanford and the Department of Surgery. This year we received a record 86 abstracts. All of the research going on in our department is to make the world a better place. The COVID19 pandemic reminds us how important that mission is.

We look forward to seeing you at Holman21.
